Guest Post - Ali at Fixin to faff

Hey y'all!

I'm Ali from Fixin To Faff, and I'm absolutely delighted to be here to visit on Roz's blog!   I wanted to share with you a pretty and fun look using nail stamping, a detail brush, and some rhinestones!

Nail art using a unique quatrefoil pattern design, stamped in lavender chrome finish over a shimmery purple base.

This look begins with three coats of China Glaze Choo-Choo Choose You, which is a gorgeous dark plum shimmer that shifts into some deep copper and green tones as well.  It's absolutely stunning, and was definitely the highlight of the All Aboard Collection for Fall 2014.  On its own, it's beautiful, but I wanted to play with those shifting tones a little bit, so I chose to stamp over it with Essie Nothing Else Metals, a lovely lavender foil finish.

I chose this unique quatrefoil pattern from Vivid Lacquer's plate VL031 and applied it over all my nails.  To finish, I created an accent nail on my ring finger by outlining it with Nothing Else Metals and then adding a chain of varying-sized clear rhinestones over the top.  Once I was done, I sealed everything with Seche Vite, my favorite quick-drying top coat.

I hope you enjoy this look and would love to hear your feedback!  If you like these and want to see more, you can find me on Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram, and of course I would love for you to come visit me on my own blog, Fixin To Faff

Huge thanks to Roz for letting me come show off my nails, and thank you to all of you for having a look!

Much love,
-Ali

Taking a rest

Hi all,

I'm going to explain what will be going on with my blog over the next couple of months.

Over the next couple of months it's going to be really busy for me and I already feel like I'm not giving the blog my all at the minute.

I've got my wedding this year,  I'm going to be trying to shed some weight for my wedding as well and work is ramping up.
I feel like I'm spreading myself a little thin so I want to concentrate on me and  I think it would be unfair to try and just phone the blog in so I'm taking a break from blogging, at least until I've got a routine back and am able to properly plan things out.

Also my nails if you follow me on instagram, you will have seen how badly my nails have been damaged over the last couple of weeks and I want to repair them and look after them.  I am going to still be taking part jn the challenges and posting them on instagram but not doing blog posts, I don't have the time to spend writing blog posts.

I hope to be back at some point I just don't have a time plan at the minute. I hope that you do still decide to follow me because I will be doing my nail art and practising techniques I may go a week without posting something but when I do it will include whatever I have missed.

I've got a couple of blog posts coming up over the next week from a few other bloggers. If you read this and would like to do a guest blog post, just drop me a line to rozsnail-scapades@outlook.com

52 week pick and mix challenge

Hi guys,

Today I am combining both posts that I had planned on doing for this manis'. Simply because of time.

This weeks themes are dotting tools and pink and aqua. I did originally do 2 mani's for this and planned on showing them earlier in the week but time just got away from me. Sorry

So for these manis on the first one I used BarryM Espresso, China Glaze Tree Hugger, Essence Lets get lost, BarryM Tangerine and Catrice LE Featherstons Fame.

For the 2nd mani I used NYC Blue Sky and Nails Inc Notting Hill Gate.

52 week pick and mix challenge PURPLE!

Hi all,

I had intended on posting this wayyyy earlier in the week but I've had time off and didn't schedule this so just spent time chilling, I hope you don't mind it's been a mental month or so and just needing to take some me time.

On with today's challenge. 3 shades of purple, I have got a lot of purples in my collection and this just decided I wanted to use 3 of my favourites. I used KIKO 331, Finger Paints Vintage Violet and OPI Vampsterdam.
